The Olympic and Paralympic Week is a week organized each year to promote sports among young people, by mobilizing the educational community around the values of citizenship and sport. This year’s theme is inclusion.
The Olympic and Paralympic Week, promoted by the OMS with the National Education and the city of Miramas, will allow to raise awareness among more than 250 Miramas students.
All week long, WHO will make available to schools the film “We Are People” directed by Philippe Fontana and narrated by Michael Jeremiaz. A great way to retrace 150 years of struggle for the inclusion of people with disabilities in sport.
Workshops to raise awareness of sport and disability will also be held for 6 elementary school classes. This is an opportunity for the students to talk with several high level sportsmen and women with disabilities who will be speaking in the classes. Among them, David Maillard (handisport fencer) and Virginie Ballario (parakarate champion) will be present.
To end the week in style, the Miramas Métropole Stadium will host the Olympic and Paralympic Sports Festival on Saturday, April 8!
