The Olympic and Paralympic village of the “Provence Terre de Sports” tour has taken up residence at the Miramas Métropole Stadium!
On Thursday 17 and Friday 18 November, the students of Miramas took full advantage of the sports and leisure activities offered by the Bouches-du-Rhône Departmental Council, in partnership with the City, the Aix-Marseille-Provence Metropolis, the departmental committees and local clubs.
On the program: initiations to Olympic and Paralympic disciplines, demonstrations and shows, virtual reality stands and awareness of the benefits of sports practice on well-being and health.
Miramas, Preparation Center for the Olympic and Paralympic Games of Paris 2024
On Friday, November 18, the Olympic and Paralympic Village welcomed the colleges of the territory.
Marine Pustorino, departmental councilor in charge of the Olympic and Paralympic Games, Frédéric Vigouroux, mayor of Miramas, and Dominique Abadie, president of the Bouches-du-Rhône Departmental Olympic and Sports Committee, took the opportunity to unveil the plaque “Miramas, Preparation Center for the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games”.
Éric Marchesi, deputy mayor, delegated to the sports city, Nadia Ali, city councillor delegated to the relations with the sports clubs, and several elected officials of the City were present at the side of high level sportsmen among whom the brothers Toma and Christo Popov, champions of Badminton, theMunicipal Sports Office and several of the City’s sports clubs.
Miramas is already preparing to welcome several Olympic and Paralympic delegations, including the Kenyan delegation. Its sports facilities, including the Miramas Métropole Stadium, are among the 77 facilities in the department that have been approved by the Organizing Committee for the Olympic and Paralympic Games for sports training.
On Saturday, November 19th, the whole city was invited to the Miramas Métropole Stadium to enjoy this great itinerant sports tour.
